Procedures > Rhinoplasty

Many people are dissatisfied with the shape of their nose. They may have a prominent mid-bridge hump or broad nasal tip or a very prominent lower part of the nose.

Fractures or injuries may very well distort the shape of the nose and the patient requires correction. Although every nose is different in principal the theory of correction is similar although clearly varies according to the patient. Usually the prominence of the mid-bridge hump is removed, the bones of the other part of the nose are therefore infractured and the nasal tip is refined. Of all the cosmetic procedures this operation requires the real artistic skills of the surgeon. Many young surgeons prefer to use an open technique which requires a scar across the central columella region which Mr Harrison prefers to avoid unless the septum is severely deviated. Rhinoplasty surgery usually takes about an hour and requires a stay in hospital of one night. It is usually very successful providing the patient with a much improved self-confidence.
