Facial Rejuvenation
A facelift merely freshens your face and eradicates some of the features of ageing. Lines on the lip often associated with exposure to excess sun can be eradicated using dermabrasion providing a smooth upper and lower lip. The bone structure of the chin may, either congenitally or with ageing, diminish and enhancement with a chin augmentation can improve the angle between the chin and the neck and improve facial balance.
There are many choices and your surgeon will guide you through them explaining the advantages and disadvantages carefully.
Botox and fillers
Mr Harrison has been using Botox both for rebalancing asymmetry in late recovered Bell's palsies and for cosmetic purposes, for over twenty years. He was one of the first in the UK to emply Botox. Botox is particularly helpful in eradicating lines on the forehead and around the eyes. In recent times it has been particularly helpful to sufferers of intractable migraine in either reducing or eliminating headaches. Fillers can be used to fill out the lines around the mouth particularly, and usually maintains the correction for 4-6 months. It is a quick and effective procedure and can eradicate these irritating little lines.
Migraine
Botox injected around the glabella region has proved effective in eradicating migraine headaches, then a more permanent cure may be possible. Incisions in the upper eyelid, similar to those used for an eyelid reduction, can permit access to the central lower forehead region, where after careful protection of one of the sensory nerves the corrugator muscles can be excised. The success rate for this procedure is quoted at 70%. It can be done as a day case under a short anaesthesia.
